Mario Super Sluggers Feature Additions
There are TWO new features that I wanted to propose for (hopefully) a new Mario Super Sluggers game.
The 10th Player
Helps competitive balance.
Allows more chemistry options.
Adds to baseball strategy element of the game.
KO: Tournament Style Game Mode
Inspired by Superstar KO from EA’s Madden Games and the Kōshien baseball tournament in Japan.
Adds another game mode to keep user engagement.
The 10th Player
In theory, this 10th player could help teams by:
Adding another player for team chemistry
This would help in fielding scenarios where you have to put in someone new to pitch who’s already on the field
Then you can plug that 10th player where there is no chemistry
Adding an extra pitcher
For similar reason as above
You take your pitcher from off the bench so it wont ruin the team chemistry elsewhere
Adding an extra hitter
For the late innings when you need a big hit in an important spot, you can bring that hitter up to the plate
Rules
Once the bench player is put in play, the player that was swapped out can NOT come back into the game.
The bench player, when put in, will take the position of the swapped player in the batting order, (but you can change fielding position)

Here is what it would look like during the draft process.
Adds 10th player slot at end of lineup/draft board.
Low cost addition to screens.
10th player added to the left of catcher/home plate.
Letter B in the top right of draft board instead of a number signifies that they are not in the lineup but are on the team as a bench player.
KO: Tournament Style Game Mode
At the start, you will:
Choose your team captain
Pick 3 other players from the player pool provided (the remaining 5 players will be filled in by different versions of the same character ie: magikoopa, koopa, or yoshi depending on your captain)
If you WIN your game:
Steal one (chosen) player from the losing team
Repeat the process for every win until you are crowned champion
If you LOSE:
Go back to the menu and start again
All games will be 3 innings (plus extra innings if necessary)
